Las Vegas has more hotel rooms than any other city in the United States. Along with the tremendous volume comes a tremendous variety, ranging from huge and magnificent (and perhaps a bit decadent) suites to 'rent by the hour' budget type rooms.

Overall, Las Vegas has reasonable hotel room prices when compared to other cities. Resorts often lower rates simply to entice you to stay with them making their money from your losses in their casino.

If you are looking for elegant rooms where price isn't much of an object (within reason), try The Venetian, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Four Seasons, Caesars Palace and some of the other nicer hotels.

Cheap Las Vegas Hotels

Some of the best room deals can be found at the older hotel/casinos such as the Tropicana, Riviera, Frontier and even the Flamingo.

Dowtown Las Vegas Hotels

There are excellent deals to be found on Fremont Street downtown where you're a cab ride away from the action on the fabulous Las Vegas Strip. Medium rollers get treated like high rollers downtown where room and show comps flow freely.

Far and away, the classiest hotel on Fremont is the Golden Nugget, but there are others that aren't too bad including Fremont, Four Queens, Main Street Station and the Plaza.
